The study of Britain and Ireland in the early middle ages is a vibrant field of significant public interest. Oxford has long had one of the largest clusters of researchers in this area. This Centre is a focus for the community of academics and students interested in all aspects of the language, literature, history, archaeology and culture of the peoples of early medieval Britain and Ireland and those with whom they were connected. It is multi-disciplinary, involving people from across the university, to foster connections and promote research within Oxford and beyond.
